Biography

The Kayas are a four piece Indie/Rock band who are set to take 2011 by storm. They are one of the top live acts to be breaking out of the Midlands in recent years. The band was formed by singer-songwriter Adam Edwards and drummer Tomos Jarvis in 2007 who were then joined by bassist Philie Jones and guitarist Duane Williams in 2010. It became the formula which gave The Kayas their signature sound.

In January 2011 The Kayas signed a management and recording contract with Abblet Music Ltd, an Independent Record Label based in the Midlands. Abblet Music sent The Kayas almost instantly down to The Sawmills recording studio in Cornwall to start working on their debut album. Jarvis commented "It's great to work with a label who don't waste time, instead they set realistic goals and keep to targets, always pushing things forward like any band would want".

The Sawmills has had some outstanding artists record their albums there, from Muse to Robert Plant, The Stone Roses to Oasis, The Verve to Supergrass who have all benefited from the special creative atmosphere that the Sawmills provides. Abblet Music feels that The Kayas would also capture the same vibe, attractiveness and clarity, which is crucial for the making of a great album.

The Kayas are pleased to announce the release of their debut single and music video which will be released digitally through Itunes and other leading distribution outlets.

The Single, 'I Have Been Waiting' which was originally going to be the B-side to fast paced track 'Brit Pop', but after hearing the track back for the first time, The Kayas and Abblet Music decided that it was the right decision to release "I Have Been Waiting" as the debut single instead.

With picturesque scenery and not a soul in-sight, The Sawmills was not only a fantastic place to record music but also became a fantastic location to film the music video, fitting perfectly with the song, filmed and edited by Concept Television Studios.

Expect an album full of anthems as The Kayas return to The Sawmills in May to complete the album. More details to be added soon ...........
